In celebration of National Walking Month we’ve been thinking about all the places that are within easy walking distance of 99 City Road Conference Centre. We’re a centrally located London conference venue, with Old Street tube station on our doorstep and great transport links, however, sometimes it’s nice to stretch our legs and explore the vibrant sights and sounds of Shoreditch and beyond.
Here’s a few of our top places to visit:
Shoreditch Street Art
Just a short walk from the conference centre, you will find some of the UK’s best street art. Artists including Banksy and Pure Evil have graced the walls of Shoreditch with their work and tourists travel from across the globe to see this concentrated collection of political and thought-provoking art.
Some of the best examples can be found on Wilkes Street, Fournier Street and Hanbury Street. Have a wander through on your own or join a tourto learn all about key pieces.
The world’s first pop-up mall was opening in Shoreditch in 2011. Box park is a collection of shipping containers that have been converted for retail, food and drink outlets. You’ll find street food, independent shops and bars as well as live music and events. It’s open until 11pm every week day so it’s the perfect place to unwind after attending a conference with us.
This stylish boutique hotelis a great place to stay and dine and only a short walk from 99 City Road. We have negotiated a discount at this hotel for delegates attending events with us but we would highly recommend a meal in the Hoi Polloi Bistro.
For a totally different night out visit Ballie Ballersonon Curtain Road. Part bar and part giant ball pit, you can drink delicious cocktails while letting off steam and re-living your childhood amongst more than 1 million balls. This venue is perfect for a quirky night out or team building event and it’s just over 5 minute’s walk from 99 City Road.
